NORTH PORT
Two children riding their bikes in North Port were hit by a car Thursday afternoon.
The driver who hit the children has been identified, according to the North Port Police Department.
The child trauma operation is under the supervision of the North Port Police Department and North Port Fire Rescue.
NPPD has not released the location of the crash.
NPPD said this is an active investigation and drivers should use caution because school is closed and the road is littered with debris.
