A Fort Myers man was sentenced Tuesday to 20 years in prison for sexually assaulting a child.
The state attorney’s office said Jorrell Milan Carabala, 37, pleaded guilty to three counts of lewd and lascivious battery. After serving 20 years in prison, Caraballo will have to serve 10 years of sex offender probation and is now a convicted sex offender.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office began investigating Caraballo in January 2020, according to the state attorney’s office. The investigation began after Caraballo’s victim told friends that he had been sexually assaulting her. These friends then told the teacher, who reported the crime to law enforcement.
