PORT CHARLOTTE
A 38-year-old man died after being struck by a car while crossing US-41 in Port Charlotte Thursday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol says a man was crossing US-41 near Cochran Boulevard when he was struck by a southbound vehicle shortly before 7 a.m.
Detectives say the car had a green light at the intersection where the man was hit.
The man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Friday. FHP reports that the woman driving that vehicle suffered minor injuries.
FHP reports that the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
