SEA GATE, BROOKLIN (WABC) – A New York City police officer is recovering from a dog attack in Brooklyn.

It happened at the Sea Gate shortly after 6pm on Sunday.

New York City police say the officer was bitten in the head by a pit bull.

The officer was taken to hospital in stable condition.

New York City police officers shot a dog that was taken to the animal department.
