A woman from Fort Myers was killed and her driver was seriously injured in an accident on Williams Road in Esther on Sunday night.

According to the Florida Road Patrol, the car, driven by an 88-year-old man from Fort Myers, with an 86-year-old woman from Fort Myers as a passenger, was driving north on the left lane of US-41, south of Williams. Road, around 9:20 p.m. The pickup truck, driven by a 20-year-old man from Fort Myers with a 22-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman as passengers, was driving south on US-41, north of Williams Road.

The car turned left onto Williams Road in front of an approaching pickup truck that collided with the right rear of the car. Both cars stopped at Williams Road. Both passengers of the car were taken to Gulf Coast Medical Center, where the woman was later pronounced dead.
