OFFICIAL RULES FOR THE 2022 SWEEPSTAKES
By participating in the ABC7 Your Way to Broadway Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”), each entrant agrees that all decisions relating to the Sweepstakes, including but not limited to the determination of eligibility, rules and interpretations of the rules, and processing technical difficulties and other errors, are at the sole and exclusive discretion of “Sponsor” (as defined below) and are final, binding and non-appealable. AARP is not responsible for the collection, mailing, or processing of entries or the administration of the Sweepstakes.
I. NAME OF SPONSOR: WABC Television (New York), LLC, licensee of WABC-TV, located at 77 West 66th Street, New York, NY 10023 (referred to as “Sponsor”).
II. RIGHT:
Entrants must be eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry and be legal residents of the United States who are physically located and reside within the Designated Market Area (“DMA”) (i.e. viewing area) of the local ABC station in New- York, New York (WABC-TV/New York) This area covers the following counties in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania – New York: Kings, Queens, New York, Suffolk, Bronx, Nassau, Westchester County , Richmond, Orange, Dutchess, Rockland, Ulster, Putnam and Sullivan; New Jersey: Bergen, Middlesex, Essex, Monmouth, Hudson, Ocean, Union, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Hunterdon and Warren counties; Connecticut: Fairfield County; Pennsylvania: Pike County, for purposes of this Contest, the above counties will be collectively referred to as the “Territory.”
Any entrants (including, but not limited to, employees, consultants, independent contractors, and interns) who, within the past six (6) months, have performed services for Sponsor, American Broadcasting Companies, Inc., AARP, and any responsible sponsoring entity, performing , administer, advertise or promote the sweepstakes or supply the prize, and/or their respective parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, and the family and household members of such persons are not eligible to participate or play. “Immediate Family Members” means parents, step-parents, children, step-children, siblings, half-siblings or spouse. “Family members” means people who reside in the same place for at least three (3) months of the year.”
In addition, Sponsor may disqualify any person who, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, is reasonably familiar with anyone involved in the development, production or administration of this Sweepstakes.
III. HOW AND WHEN TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
From 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on October 12, 2022 until 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time on October 23, 2022 (“Entry Period”), entrants may enter the Sweepstakes by visiting abc7ny.com (“Web site” ) by finding the Sweepstakes and Rules section of the website, clicking on the sweepstakes link, and filling out the entry form.
How to Sign Up: To sign in, you must be a registered member of abc7ny.com.
Active Entrant: As an Entrant, you may enter the Sweepstakes by logging into the Website with your username (“Username”) or email address (“Address”) and password and following the login instructions.
Non-Member: If you are not a member, you may become a member free of charge by visiting the Website and registering by providing the requested information on the registration form through “registration” or a similar section on the Website. By creating a member account, you agree to the Terms of Use (available at http://disneytermsofuse.com). After becoming a member and meeting the criteria, you can enter the drawing by following the instructions.
By clicking Continue to proceed with your entry, you confirm that you are eligible for this Sweepstakes and agree to these Official Sweepstakes Rules.
During the registration and opt-in process, you may be asked to consent to receiving promotional and marketing emails from WABC-TV and/or other members of the Walt Disney Family of Companies and AARP NY. Consent to receive promotional, marketing or reminder emails is optional, not required to enter the Sweepstakes and does not increase your chances of winning. In the event that you consent to receive these emails, their use will be governed by the ABC Privacy Policy available at www.disneyprivacyCentre.com and/or the AARP Privacy Policy available at www.aarp.org/privacy.
LIMIT ONE (1) HUMAN AND ELECTRONIC ENTRY PER DAY PER ENTRY PERIOD. For purposes of these Official Rules, a “day” is defined as any twenty-four (24) hour period during the Entry Period that begins at 12:01 AM ET and ends twenty-four (24) hours later at 11:59 PM ET . . Sponsor is not responsible for any failed, partial or garbled computer transmission or technical failure of any kind, including but not limited to electronic malfunction or damage to any network, hardware or software.
If for any reason the Sweepstakes cannot operate as intended, including computer virus infection, errors, tampering, tampering, fraud, technical failure, other causes beyond Sponsor’s control that damage or affect administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any person who interferes with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes. Not responsible for: any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communication line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access or alteration of records; or any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, online computer systems, servers or providers, computer hardware, software, failure of any e-mail or electronic record to be received due to technical problems, congestion traffic on the Internet or to any website or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to an entrant’s computer or any other person related to or resulting from participating in or downloading any materials from this Sweepstakes. Entries remain the property of Sponsor and will not be returned or acknowledged. In the event of cancellation, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine a winner using all non-suspect eligible entries received prior to the time of cancellation.
IV. HOW AND WHEN WINNER WILL BE SELECTED AND NOTIFIED: One (1) potential winner will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received on or about October 24, 2022. A potential winner will be notified on or about October 25, 2022. Odds of winning depend on the number of valid entries received. The final determination of the winner is always subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with all rules and procedures. The potential winner will be notified at the phone number or email address provided on the entry form. If a potential winner cannot be reached within two (2) days of notification of winning, or if such potential winner is found to be ineligible, unable or unwilling to comply with these Official Rules, such potential winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected. Any prize not claimed by 12:00 PM ET (noon) on November 1, 2022 (or such other time as Sponsor may specify) will be forfeited. To claim the prize, (a) the winner must provide proof of age, identity and residence, (b) the winner must sign and return an affidavit of eligibility/compliance, release of publicity/liability and indemnification, all within the time period , as determined by Sponsor.
V. PRIZE:
One (1) prize available. Prize consists of four (4) admission tickets to Neil Diamond’s Broadway musical A Beautiful Noise. Tickets will be sold on a date agreed upon between Sponsor and the confirmed winner. The approximate retail value of the Prize is USD 1,200.
Sponsor is not responsible for cancellations, delays or any other changes by any company or person providing any element of the Prize for reasons beyond Sponsor’s control and is not responsible for any costs incurred as a result. The prize promotion may be cancelled. If the winner chooses to attend the event without guests, the remaining elements of the Prize will constitute the full satisfaction of Sponsor’s obligations to the winner and no additional compensation will be awarded.
Prize components may not be sold, exchanged, transferred or transferred to dates outside of the performance period specified above or refunded. Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash. Sponsor will not replace lost, mutilated or stolen tickets.
Any transportation to/from the Show and any related facilities will not be provided by Sponsor and are the sole responsibility of each winner. Tickets must be used on the date specified by Sponsor. Tickets are subject to certain terms and conditions stated therein. Location will be determined by Sponsor. The winner and their guest must comply with all rules and regulations of the event. Failure to do so may result in prize forfeiture.
VI. RELEASES: By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which are final in all respects. By participating in the Sweepstakes and/or accepting any prize they may win, entrants agree to release Sponsor, its parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, advertising and promotional agencies and prize suppliers, and each of their respective officers, directors , agents, representatives and employees, and each of their respective successors, representatives and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all actions, claims, injuries, losses or damages arising in any way, directly or indirectly, involving in the sweepstakes and/or acceptance or use of the prize. Entrants permit Released Parties to use their name, voice, likeness, biographical information, city and state of residence, entry materials, and any materials collected by Sponsor in connection with the award of the prize, in programs or promotional materials in any media now known or hereafter created or conceived, worldwide in perpetuity, or on the winner’s list, as applicable, without additional compensation unless prohibited by law. Sponsor is under no obligation to use any of the foregoing information or materials, but may do so and may edit such information or materials in Sponsor’s sole discretion without further obligation or compensation.
VII. MISCELLANEOUS; LIST OF WINNERS:
NON-ATERMINATION WHERE PROHIBITED. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any person who interferes with the entry process and to cancel, terminate, modify and/or suspend the Sweepstakes due to interference or other circumstances, including but not limited to. or civil disorder that makes it impractical or impossible to complete or perform the competition as originally planned.
