Southern California Comics
Actor Beam buffer San Diego comic book store accused of stealing expensive comics … and the store says security footage shows him stuffing them up his shirt.
San Diego’s Southern California Comic Con claims Ray is on video stealing $600 worth of comics, and the store has filed a police report with the SDPD and is turning over evidence, including video footage, to police.
SDPD tells TMZ that police filed a petit larceny report and are investigating the incident.
The comic shop claims it has received even more evidence – which it will hand over to police – after alerting other shops about Ray in a Facebook post before he was identified.

The owners tell us that Los Angeles-based Metropolis Comics sent them some eerily similar footage from Ray’s time there. In this video, the owner confronts him after seeing him make the same move, and this time he puts the comics back and leaves as the owner threatens to call the police.
Ray, who appeared in TV series ER and Curb Your Enthusiasm, deleted all his social media accounts after the comic book store posted the video online.

Bookstores are always ready for this kind of theft because some comics are worth a lot of money — we’ve reported on rare comics sold at auction for large sums. This is why most stores have such great security cameras.
We reached out to Ray … so far we haven’t heard back.
