An 18-year-old Fort Myers man is accused of crashing a stolen vehicle into an LCSO vehicle

An 18-year-old Fort Myers man was arrested after deputies say he stole a car, was driving recklessly and crashed into the MP’s car early Monday morning.

Javaris Williams was arrested after deputies responded to reports of a reckless driver on Naples Avenue South in Lehigh Acres around 4:20 a.m., according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. The two arrived in the area and saw a gray Dodge Charger heading west on Randolph Street. East. One of the deputies continued down Naples Avenue while the other turned onto a side street.

Williams, the driver of a Dodge Charger, failed to stop at the intersection of Randolph Street East and Naples Avenue South and T-struck the right side of the deputy’s vehicle.
The deputy was taken to Gulf Coast Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries and was released later that day.

Detectives learned the Dodge Charger was reported stolen from Fort Myers police on Thursday. Williams now has his driver’s license revoked. He faces charges of grand theft auto.
