ELIZABETH, N.J. (WABC) — A New Jersey Transit bus crashed into a cement truck on a New Jersey freeway Tuesday morning, injuring several people.
It happened around 7:35 a.m. in Lizaveta.
New Jersey Transit reports that bus #139, which runs from Lakewood to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City, came into contact with a cement truck while traveling northbound on the NJ Turnpike near Junction 13 in Elizabeth.
At that moment there were 32 customers on board.
Nine customers and the bus operator are being treated for minor, non-life-threatening injuries.
The remaining customers were placed on another bus to continue their journey.
New Jersey State Police are investigating the crash.
