Cape Coast Conference Cross Country Championships
Rockledge won both individual titles while Satellite and Viera shared the team trophies Monday at the Cape Coast Conference cross country meet at Wickham Park in Melbourne.
Rockledge junior Malinda Underwood finished first among the girls, ahead of defending individual champion Madison Carr of Astronaut. Underwood ran the 5,000 meters in 18:47.8, ahead of Carr’s 18:54.1. Merritt Island’s Brooke Yates (19:10.3) and Kyra Merrick (19:23.3) moved on.
The “Spatial” girls successfully defended their team title, taking four places out of the top 11. Viera and Melbourne finished second and third respectively.
Vieira’s boys finished second, third and fourth to propel their team to victory. The Raiders and Melbourne were next.
Rockledge’s Devin Makowski won the individual title in 15:44.4. Hawks seniors Aidan Rendeck (15:51.0), Cameron Rennie (15:53.1) and Aidan Carroll (16:15.0) rounded out the top four.
