Cocoa played one of the best in the state on the road and lost despite a furious second-half comeback. The Anothet team not only scored their own points, but also got their first win of the year. Meanwhile, several teams celebrated homecoming around Brevard County in Week 7.
Melbourne 24, Palm Bay 7
Hunter Turner connected with Jalen Clark on a 29-yard scoring pass into the corner of the end zone for the final score as the Bulldogs beat rival Babcock.
Trevor Cousy’s 42-yard field goal in the first quarter put Melbourne (4-2) ahead, and Wesley Lambert’s 16-yard run on the first play of the second quarter gave the home team a 10-0 homecoming night lead. Clark scored midway through the second.

Palm Bay’s next game is at home against the Astronauts on Oct. 17, rescheduled from Week 6.
Astronaut 21, Winter Springs 7
The War Eagles got their first win on homecoming night in Titusville.
Chevion Beachem scored the first points of the year for the Astronauts (1-4) on a 14-yard run at 9:35 of the second quarter. Delvonte Hunter ran from the 15 in the third, and Colt Steuerwald connected with Ryan Gordon for a 44-yard touchdown pass.

Bayside 21, Viera 14
The Bears won their second straight and did it for homecoming in Palm Bay.
Viera took the lead in the first quarter on a 5-yard touchdown pass from Dominic Gentile to Michael Schmidt, but Bayside (4-2) scored the next two touchdowns and never trailed. David Francis drove in two runs and Logan Churchill caught a 14-yard pass from Garrett Loucks for another Bears tally.
Viera fell to 0-6 and hosts Harmony for District 11-4S play on Friday, while Bayside hosts Merritt Island for 10-3S play.
Seminole 35, Cocoa 29
In Sanford, the Tigers came back in overtime but couldn’t score in the extra period.

Kakao trailed by two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, but Blake Boda caught passes to Keon Calhoun and Jayden Edgecomb to tie the score. In overtime, Rory Thomas made a 7-pointer from the floor for the home team
The Tigers dropped to 2-3 with a loss to the No. 2 ranked team in Class 2M.
Cocoa started the scoring in the first quarter on a 78-yard interception return by Jordan Holmes. After Seminole briefly took an 8-7 lead, DayDay Farmer went 85 yards on a pass from Bode to give the Tigers a 14-8 lead midway through the first.
Cocoa hosts District 12-2S opponent Titusville in Week 8.
Titusville 32, Port Orange Atlantic 7
The Terriers picked up their fourth win in six games, this time as part of the school’s homecoming.
This puts the team on a three-game winning streak. Titusville plays at Cocoa on Friday in District 12-2S.
Heritage 30, Sebastian River 7
The Panthers have won two in a row after an 0-4 start, this time on the road against a previously undefeated Sharks team.
Heritage took a 23-0 lead on Tyshawn Benson’s 72-yard touchdown run. After Sebastian River scored for the first time of the night, the Panthers responded with Joseph Tent’s run of 19. Benson scored 22.
Heritage hosts District 11-4S opponent Melbourne in Week 8.
Cocoa Beach 35, Cornerstone Charter 0
Peyton Ellis makes field goals of 25 and 23 yards and the Minutemen win their fourth straight.
Alan Bailey also kicked a goal from the ground in the return leg. Mason Bryant scored first, returning the ball 20 yards into the end zone in the first quarter.
Receiver Aaron Gerber and quarterback Logan Silvea completed the scoring with a 19-yard punt through the air.
Out-of-Door Academy’s next visit will be Cocoa Beach.
Eau Gallie 35, Palm Coast 20
In Flagler, the Commodores bounced back from their first loss for their 6th win of the season.
Both Tyler Sheehan and Robert Stafford had touchdown catches, with Stafford going 97 yards in the closing seconds.
Alvarez Baker opened the scoring with a 59-yard run at 6:41 of the first.
Eau Gallie’s next game is at home against Bayside on Oct. 21.
Rockledge 20, Carrollwood, Day 6
The Raiders won the road game in Tampa. It was scheduled after the effects of Hurricane Ian canceled the Manatee game.
Rockledge improved to 5-1 on the season and will host Satellite on Friday for District 10-3S competition.
Merritt Island 45, Eustis 35
The Mustangs won on the road Thursday night.
Merritt Island visits Bayside for a District 10-3S game in Week 8.
Seabreeze 28, satellite 21
On homecoming night for Satellite, the Scorpions trailed by four touchdowns at halftime and fell just short of the victory, falling to 3-4.
Parker Dawson threw a touchdown pass to Mark Hinkel and ran for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, and Ahijah Jones also had a field goal in the comeback attempt.
Companion visits District 10-3S foe Rockledge in a week.
Tent 61, Space Coast 8
Tristin Willner scored on a 5-yard run in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough for the Vipers on the road.
