Life is good! The future always makes money and it looks like he just did it again. In accordance with Diversity, Future sold his Grammy Award-winning label catalog from 2004 to 2020. The new owners, Influence Media Partners, reportedly cut Future an eight-figure check. Future’s 612 record purchase includes popular tracks like “Jumpman,” “Mask Off” and “Life Is Good.”
Rene McLean, Influence Media partner and founding advisor, commented on the purchase, saying, “Future is a cultural icon. He continues to be a blueprint for influence and success in the music industry and has opened up music in ways no one ever expected.” She added: “It’s rare to find someone who moves music and culture at the same speed with his expressive vocals and melodic style. His prolific career and continued popularity of the game for more than 15 years are a testament to his undeniable influence on modern music and culture. We are honored to be a partner with him.”
The rapper also shared a few words about the deal. “I put everything into my music and wanted to make sure it was in good hands as I thought about the next chapter of these songs. I’m proud to partner with Renee and the team at Influence Media and send the message that this music has eternal value. My music is my art and these songs are some of the most valuable pieces of art in my career.”
Future has released eight studio albums, four collaborative albums, one reissue album, one soundtrack album, 16 mixtapes, four commercial mixtapes, and 114 singles. He has 69 artists, and six of Future’s eight studio albums have reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 200.
