Mangoficent Roll at Nippon Thai
Mango runs the Mangoficent Roll, one of sushi chef Tommy Benjapadi’s two latest creations for Nippon Thai Restaurant, 1114 State Road A1A, Satellite Beach.
Juicy fruit tops a roll with tempura shrimp, tuna, crab, cream cheese, cilantro and kimchi sauce. At $15.45, it’s an inexpensive opportunity to try a slice of heaven.
Another new roll from Chef Tommy Benjapadi, Blush, features salmon, tuna, cream cheese, avocado and tempura flakes topped with even more salmon and a bit of cilantro sauce. It also costs $15.45. Like Mangoficent, it scored highly in the deliciousness apothecary.
Considered by many fans to be one of the best Thai food and sushi restaurants on the Space Coast, Nippon Thai is celebrating its 15th anniversary next month. Benjapadi’s partner in culinary invention, Noah Udomsataya, greets visitors with a smile and a hug.

Classic yet contemporary concerts in Titusville, Suntree
Since not all great composers wore powdered wigs, Central Florida Winds wants to reinforce that fact with a weekend of Contemporary Classics concerts.
Beginning with the 2022-2023 Winds season, international classical concerts will be presented at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8 at Park Avenue Baptist Church, 2600 S. Park Ave., Titusville, and at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9 , at Santry United Methodist Church, 7400 N. Wickham Road, Melbourne.
The Central Florida Winds are led by conductor and founder Richard Sabin, who believes that classical music doesn’t have to be “old” to be great.
“Wonderful pieces were written by composers of the 19th and 20th centuries,” said Sabina. – Our concert draws attention to works that are classics in themselves. And we’re delighted to have our principal horn player, Rick Collins, perform in a concert that truly showcases the beauty and round, velvety tone of the instrument.”
The upcoming season opener includes music by Edward Elgar, William Grant Steele, Andrew Boss, Morton Gould and Francis Macbeth. Collins will perform during the Horn Concerto No. 1, Richard Strauss’s iconic piece for horn and orchestra, specially rewritten for brass.
Although admission is free, a suggested donation of $10 will go towards helping the nonprofit create its unique sounds. Places are first come, first served, so get there early.
The Central Florida Winds Orchestra was formed in 1999 and draws on the talent of professional players, retired professional musicians, music teachers, and high school and college students. The ensemble, which has more than 50 members, is composed of woodwind, brass and percussion players from Brevard and other Central Florida counties.
