Coolio’s children make necklaces to hold his ashes

Coolio will remain near and dear to his children’s hearts — and not just figuratively — as they design jewelry to keep his ashes close by.

According to the rapper’s death certificate obtained by TMZ , Coolio’s body had already been cremated … and we’re told that’s what prompted his 7 kids to come up with the idea to do some special glitter.

Coolio’s rep tells TMZ … each of his children will receive a pendant for the ashes along with the necklaces.

Several other close family members will also receive them.

We’re told that each of his sons and daughters will be able to choose custom inscriptions for their jewelry.

Coolio’s remaining ashes will go in the urn once all the necklaces have been distributed.

According to Coolio, he always liked being a father Vanilla ice — who became very emotional when he told us how much Coolio always is thought about the family … even in his last days.
