PAWKIPSY, N.Y. (WABC) — A deadly shooting forced the evacuation of a hotel in Dutchess County.
Shortly before 8 a.m. Saturday, police received a call about a shooter armed with a long gun at the Courtyard Marriott in Poughkeepsie.
Upon arrival, the emergency team found one person who had been shot.
Police reportedly arrested the suspect in the shooting at the scene.
Marist College released a statement saying the victim was a relative of the student.
The Marriott was booked with guests coming for a school family weekend.
