CAPE CORAL, FL – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will hold part of the first day of a special session of the legislature, speaking at Cape Coral.

His press service announced that DeSantis would make a statement at the Cape Coral Police Department headquarters.

DeSantis will be joined by Trey Price, director of the Florida Housing Finance Corporation, and Secretary of the Department of Economic Opportunities Dane Eagle.

On Monday, state lawmakers are beginning to consider possible bills to address the problem of rising insurance costs in the state.

Two large bills on the list coverage reforms Republican members say to balance “costs and protections for consumers” and “add smart fencing” for insurers to protect them from frivolous claims.
