GREENWICH, Conn. (WABC) — Two local women are living proof that if you have passion and desire, you can achieve almost anything, including taking an idea from childhood to the Oscars.

Saima Rathore and Patricia Gallardo, co-founders of Epiclight Beauty, are busy packing and shipping boxes from their home in Greenwich, Connecticut, to the doorsteps of Oscar nominees.

This is a project that was a labor of love.

“I think me and Sima almost cried, it’s really emotional, we’re still pinching ourselves,” Gallardo said.

They met 15 years ago in New York, when they took their children to kindergarten.

With experience in the beauty industry and finance, about five years ago the ladies wanted to try something new and went out on a limb.

“It was scary to take on this huge project, but it was exciting,” Gallardo said.

On October 18, 2022, Epiclight Beauty was officially launched.

Their team of six women is focused on creating multi-purpose products for different skin tones that are also rich in skin care ingredients.

For the first time, their creation will be in gift bags for stars such as Cate Blanchett, Angela Bassett, Jamie Lee Curtis, Colin Farrell and Brendan Fraser.

The ladies told Eyewitness News reporter Kimberly Richardson they still don’t believe it.

“I really believe that when you’re authentic and you do what you want, things just start to happen,” Ratar said.

“Everyone Wins” gift packages for nominees are special and reserved for the top 28 Oscar nominees.

Now, Rathor and Gallardo are busy developing new products aimed at making Gen X women stay true to one of their mantras: “We see you because we are you.”

“If you have a dream, just go for it, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise,” Rathore said.
