The Ester village council voted to introduce a second reading of the ordinance on March 1, which would add standards for the construction of one-family houses.

During the recovery process after Hurricane Jan, some Estero residents asked for permission to put their flooded homes on stilts, Village Manager Steve Sarkozy said.
