HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (AP) — Police in Florida arrested one man Saturday and issued warrants for the arrest of two others believed to be the gunmen who opened fire along a crowded Memorial Day promenade, wounding nine people.

The Hollywood Police Department said authorities have arrested Jordan Burton and are looking for Ariel Cordon Paul and Lionel JeanCharles Jr.

The suspects will be charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder, eight counts of attempted second-degree murder and one count of carrying a concealed firearm, according to a police news release.

It was not immediately clear whether Burton had hired an attorney

Two other men who police say were involved in the altercation that led to the shooting have already been arrested on firearms charges.

Police and witnesses said the shooting began when a group of people fought in front of a busy shopping area on the Hollywood Walk. Bystanders frantically ran for cover when gunshots rang out on a beach south of Fort Lauderdale during a busy holiday weekend.

Seven of the nine people injured in the shooting have been released from the hospital, police said. The other two are still in hospital.
