Fort Myers Beach residents were allowed to return to the island on Sunday to see how their homes and businesses were doing.
Many residents were unable to get into their homes, and some people had to climb ladders over rooftops just to get a glimpse inside what they called home.
WINK News was outside the Red Coconut RV Park where residents said they couldn’t find their RV because the storm surge moved some homes 25 feet from where they were originally parked.
The streets in the RV park are still covered in rubble and debris, but that doesn’t stop people from coming.
The woman told WINK News that she found the wine glass intact, while other items were completely destroyed by the explosion.
