On Tuesday, the city of Fort Myers completed a citywide damage assessment following Hurricane Ian.
The results are as follows:
Commercial damage
- $329,739,263 in damages
- 30 buildings were destroyed
- 192 buildings were significantly damaged
- 718 buildings with minor damage
- 949 buildings were damaged
Residential damage
- $332,762,121 in damages
- 343 buildings were destroyed
- 426 buildings were significantly damaged
- 1,939 buildings with minor damage
- 4379 buildings were affected
The total damage to residential and commercial properties is $662,501,384. 373 buildings were destroyed.
