FORT MYERS

Fort Myers police have issued an arrest warrant for the mother two missing children of Fort Myers.

Evelyn Sanchez-Rojas is accused of interfering in the custody of 2-month-old Genesis Barrios and 2-year-old Jasmine Barrias, the Fort Myers Police Department said.

The police department said they turned to the house on Moravia Avenue, where the children were last seen, for help at the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities believe the children may have been with 25-year-old Sanchez-Rojas and 35-year-old Inmer Barrios, who is the father of the children.

Fort Myers police said that during the initial investigation, detectives learned that both children had left with Sanchez-Rojas and, “possibly,” Barios, in violation of a court ruling.

Fort Myers Police detectives contacted the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

The Fort Myers Police Department said it was working closely with the FDLE, U.S. marshals, the FBI and Homeland Security.
