An NFL legend Frank Gore has been charged with assault … after cops say he was involved in a domestic violence incident with a 28-year-old woman last month.
Atlantic City Police Department reports TMZ Sports … On July 31, around 8:11 a.m., officers were called to the Tropicana Atlantic City in New Jersey for a report of a domestic violence dispute.
Cops say the 28-year-old woman, who they did not identify, spoke to hotel security … but “did not show any signs of physical injury and no complaints were filed at the time.”
Police, however, say that after an investigation began… Gore was last charged this week with simple assault “in connection with a domestic violence incident.”
No further details about the charges have been released.
The 39-year-old former San Francisco 49ers superstar is scheduled to have a hearing in the case in mid-October, according to court records.
Gore is widely regarded as one of the NFL’s greatest running backs – he played 16 seasons in the league and rushed for 16,000 yards … third most all-time.

Since he last played in the 2020 season, Gore has become a boxer. In his first fight in 2021 with the ex-NBA star Deron Williams, he lost by split decision. He later recorded a remarkable knockout in his second ever fight against Yaya Olorunsola earlier this year.
