Sony Bargerfounder of Hells Angels, died.
The news appeared on his own Facebook page on Wednesday night with a message that read, “If you read this post, you’ll know I’m gone. I asked for this note to be posted immediately after my death. “
He says he enjoyed the most time in his life spent with his brothers at the club, family and friends … he signs, saying, “Keep your head high, stay true, stay free and always honor your honor.”
Born in Modesto in 1938, Sonny lived a hard life, growing up … raised by an alcoholic father after his mother left the family when he was just 4 months old. He was repeatedly expelled from school for brawls, and eventually dropped out of 10th grade.
He enlisted in the army at age 16, but was proudly fired a year later – the military learned he had forged a birth certificate to enroll.
Sony joined several biker groups before founding the Oakland Hells Angels in 1957 – in April the group just turned 65 years old. The following year, he became the organization’s national president after his predecessor went to prison. Sony has moved its headquarters to Auckland.
During the year there were stories of racism in the angels of hell. Sony said in a BBC interview in 2000: “The club as a whole is not racist, but we probably have enough racist members who will not include any black guys.”
He was arrested and imprisoned several times – once in 1973 for possession of drugs and weapons, and in 1988 for conspiracy … they found in him several units of firearms and explosives, believing that he was determined to harm a rival group. .
In 1979, he and 33 others were charged with violating the Law on Organizations Under the Influence of Racketeers and Corruptors … legislation signed by the president Nixonsought to get rid of organized crime in the country – the following year he was acquitted after a split sentence.
In 1983, Sonya was diagnosed with throat cancer due to excessive smoking, which forced him to remove his vocal cords. In 2012, he also underwent surgery to remove his prostate from prostate cancer.
He is survived by his wife Zoranand several close family members.
He was 83 years old.
REST WITH PEACE
