Every year, BET hosts an annual Hip Hop Awards how they pay tribute to those who paved the way, as well as those who are killing the game now, and those who are also up and coming.

This year’s show returned to Atlanta, Georgia and featured special guest stars such as Lil Kim, Remy Ma, Gloria, Kodak Black, Yo Gotti and many more. All the way from the Bronx, New York’s Fat Joe served as host for this year’s awards ceremony, which also honored the only Trina with ‘“I am hip-hop” award..’

Glorilla was announced as the first winner of this year’s award. She had a big year with her summer anthem “FNF (Let’s Go),” and the record’s success made her the first female rapper to be signed to Yo Gotti’s CMG record label.

When it comes to best hip-hop platform, there were two winners. Jung’s Miami show “Caresha Please” was the winner. As well as NORE and DJ EFN’s “Drink Champs” podcast. Both shows are part of the Revolt platform.
