In April, Ryan Seacrest is leaving Live with Kelly and Ryan.

NEW YORK — Big news from the set of “Live with Kelly and Ryan” this morning.

During the show’s East Coast broadcast today, Ryan Seacrest announced that he is leaving the show in April to fully focus on “American Idol” and other projects. Ryan co-hosted the show for six seasons.

It was also announced that actor Mark Consuelos, Kelly Ripa’s husband, will take Ryan’s place. Mark is a fan favorite who has frequently co-hosted the show over the years.

Ryan won’t be a stranger to the show – he’ll be returning to guest co-host from time to time!
