On January 6, the committee released a new video featuring the Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi dealing with a real stupid situation – where she was trying to get the troops and Congress back to approve the 2020 election results.
The more than 7-minute video features a congressman and a senator. Chuck Schumer in several different rooms in the Capitol – they were being moved around for their safety, but they were fully aware of how intense and dangerous the rebellion had become.
During a telephone conversation with V.P Mike PenceRep. Pelosi told him they had reports of “defecation and all that” happening on the House floor.
She and Schumer also spoke to various governors, the acting attorney general and the mayor of Washington, D.C., asking them to immediately send in National Guard troops.
Lawmakers’ determination to complete the vote was evident, even though … as the speaker put it, “it may take time to clean up the poop they’re making” on the House floor.
Pence eventually tells Nancy that he spoke with the Capitol Police Chief, who said they can go ahead and complete the certification of the election.
