Thursday is expected to be another dry, warm January day. The air temperature will be 7-8 degrees higher than the average temperature with sunny clouds.

Much of Southwest Florida will remain dry through Friday, with only a chance of showers.

Over the weekend, the front will dive south across the northern half of the Florida peninsula, but will stall just north of the WINK viewing area. That means we’ll stay on the warm and humid side of it. However, what we will also see is a return of rain ahead of this front.

Areas north of the Caloosahati River will have the highest chance of rain from Saturday into Sunday, as those areas will be closest to where the front stalls. A tenth of an inch to a half inch of rain is possible there.

The chance of rain decreases the further south you go.
