Not all is well with Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers started the 2022-23 NBA season 0-4. This is the worst start for a LeBron James since the 2003-04 season, James’ rookie year with Cleveland Cavaliers. The Lakers are notably shooting-deprived, holding just 41.6 field goal percentage overall, the second-worst mark in the NBA. Their 22.3 three-point percentage is the worst in the entire league.
Now their most important player may be expressing his displeasure.
LeBron, the Lakers fell to 0-4 after losing to the Denver Nuggets
LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are now 0-4 after losing to the Denver Nuggets last night.
James himself came up with a curious post on Instagram.
LeBron posted highlights of the Lakers’ 110-99 loss to the team on Thursday. Denver Nuggets on Instagram. The message was partially captioned: “How long will you be taken for granted…”
Former Lakers Hall of Fame point guard Magic Johnson also commented on his frustration with the Lakers’ slow start — and their rough shooting — on Twitter on Tuesday.
As the Lakers’ president of basketball operations at the time, Johnson signed James to the Lakers in free agency. The move eventually led to the franchise’s 17th NBA championship and James’ fourth in 2020. However, the Lakers also missed the playoffs in two of James’ four seasons in purple and gold.
One of those seasons came last year after the Lakers’ botched trade. Russell Westbrook. Despite obvious friction between Westbrook and the Lakers during the 2021-22 season and in the offseason, packed trade rumours, Westbrook remains a Laker for now. However, Bally Sports recently reported that Westbrook could soon come off the bench despite this his stated aversion to it.
Johnson said Westbrook needs to “take responsibility” for his struggles on the court recent appearance on “Club Shay Shay”.

Meanwhile, the Lakers will continue to search for solutions as first-year head coach Darwin Hamm tries to steer his team on the right path — and keep James, his 20-year veteran superstar, happy.
