MTA PREPARING FOR SNOW WORK
The MTA says crews will be deployed throughout the operating region, spreading salt and clearing surfaces of snow, keeping signals, switches and third rails in working order, and dealing with any weather-related issues.
New York City’s articulated buses will be equipped with chains during Tuesday morning’s rush hour. Bus traffic will be adjusted depending on the traffic situation in the city, possible curtailments along the routes.

PREPARATION IN NEW YORK
Alternative side parking rules will be suspended on Tuesday, February 28. Parking meters will remain in effect.
During this snowfall, Open Restaurants may operate as normal if the business owner deems it safe to do so.
The New York City Department of Sanitation reports that the entire fleet of more than 700 salt spreaders will be located and ready for use beginning Monday afternoon. The crews prepared the roads. In addition, the Department’s snowplows will be converted into snow plows that will be ready to plow when two inches of snow falls. The department has more than 2,000 plowing machines. The department is fully stocked with over 700 million pounds of salt.
BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT DECLARES SNOW EMERGENCY
Bridgepost, which is expecting up to half a foot of snow, has declared a state of emergency during the storm, meaning residents should move their cars off streets declared snow emergency and stick to parking on the other side on all other streets. Snow emergency streets are marked with white signs with red letters.
