Face to play James MadisonConservative pundits may have blown the whistle, but the people who represent the 4th president’s home couldn’t be happier, and they’re calling for her to come home as soon as possible.
A rep for James Madison’s estate in Montpellier tells TMZ … Face has now received an open invitation to take a private tour of the well-preserved Madison estate after she made history with a crystal instrument formerly owned by Pres.
They’re even hoping she’ll put on a performance during her visit – whether it’s a scheduled concert or a simple jam session on the go!!!
They hope something can be worked out with the Library of Congress to deliver the crystal flute — which dates back to 1813 — for the Face set. The estate notes that there is no evidence that J.M. ever played the instrument, so Face may have been the first to play a Madison flute in the Madison household. Iconic.
FYI – Historic Montpelier, located in Virginia, is a 2,650-acre estate … that functions not only as a monument to a former president, but also as a museum of American history and a center for constitutional education.
Hearing @lizzo playing some of the library’s priceless antique instruments on Monday was such a gift, and we were honored and excited to help her share that gift with the audience at her Tuesday night concert. Here are some more behind-the-scenes shots of her tour of the library. #LizzoAtLOC pic.twitter.com/OQc4K3YXBg

It’s unclear whether Lisa will agree to the gig – she’s currently in the middle of a tour – but it’s worth noting that around 100 slaves worked in Montpellier when Madison lived there.
As we reported Lizzo made history playing a few notes on the 200-year-old instrument on Tuesday… and we’re told Montpellier doesn’t think anyone else deserves more – calling it “a flute fit for royalty” and the singer qualifies.
The moment struck a chord with some people (what’s new?) … as they argued that she demeaned American history by using such a unique relic in her performance.
Apparently, the people who know Madison best are taking it in stride.
