Authorities in Washington said a man was shot in the face and abdomen after he refused to hand over his crossbow to someone who approached him.

A 45-year-old man was sitting in a parked car behind a building with a crossbow on the passenger seat in Soda neighborhood in Seattle on Friday, October 7, the Seattle Police Department said in a press release.

The man approached his car and demanded a crossbow, but the man in the car refused to give it up, police said.

The man then shot him in the face and stomach, police said.

The injured man left the area and asked someone for help at 8:52 p.m., police said.

He was taken to Harborview Medical Center with his injuries, police said.
