NUTLEY, N.J. (WABC) — Residents in Essex, Hudson and Passaic counties were affected by the massive 74-inch mainline break.
NewsCopter 7 came to a stop on Bloomfield Avenue in Nutley just after 6 a.m. Friday.
Newark notified residents of the East Ward and lower South Ward that the outage could affect their water supply.
Bloomfield recommends boiling water for the entire city.
Glen Ridge also advised residents that water pressure may be low or non-existent.
Nutley residents can expect road closures and detours along Bloomfield Avenue, from Center Street to Church Street, as authorities make repairs.
The water supply is operated by the North Jersey District Water Commission.
