For Jay Ellisthe flying commercial feels very boring after shooting scenes in real fighters Tom Cruise … but he’s already working to find that excitement in the cockpit again.
When we got the star of “Top Gun: Maverick” in LAX, he made it clear that he was focused on getting a pilot’s license. Or, in “Top Gun” say … Jay feels the need for speed!
He, along with other “pilots” for months trained on various aircraft, advancing to the F-18 Super Hornet and even launching from an aircraft carrier. Jay says that Maverick – aka Tom – has prepared a training program.
Tom is known to be a licensed pilot, and Jay – who plays “Retribution” in a blockbuster – wants to follow his example, and since he already has a handicap in training … he wants to go the distance.
It is safe to say that Jay was fascinated by flying – you have to see how he lights up, telling us how to feel all these G-forces during filming.
Jay is quite confident that he will be able to fly our photo up the Kali coast, but it seems he needs to practice more when it comes to returning to earth.
