South Jamaica, Queens (WABC) – A Queens mother is fighting for her life after a woman suffered severe injuries on Mother’s Day as a result of a horrific crash.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. Sunday on 120th Avenue in South Jamaica.

Police say the driver of the stolen dump truck tried to turn around and started crashing into parked cars.

“He hit this white BMW. He hit about three or four times,” said eyewitness Sharon Brown. “The owners of the car came out. They tried to stop him. He was still on the move. “

One woman was walking towards the truck, trying to stop it.

The video from surveillance cameras and a mobile phone obtained by Eyewitness News shows the driver pressing on the gas.

A truck crashes into a parked SUV that crashes into another car, pinning a 48-year-old mother between them.

The woman’s daughter then cried out for help when the driver left, leaving her mother fighting for her life.

She is now in critical condition at a Jamaican hospital.

Police found the stolen truck about a mile from the scene, in front of the church.

He had significant anterior injuries.

Surveillance camera footage shows the driver calmly leaving the car.

Police say the truck was stolen from a construction company.

The investigation is ongoing.

That fall came days after Mayor Eric Adams announced the dispersal on reckless drivers in response to a surge in pedestrian accidents.
