It was previously reported that the son of Nene Leakes Brent Leakes, unfortunately, suffered a heart attack and stroke at the age of 23. It was reported that he has since left the hospital and is currently in a rehabilitation clinic while he recovers.
After the unfortunate news began to spread, Nene took to her Instagram story to thank everyone for their prayers, as well as share some details about what happened, as well as how Brent is doing now.
Sitting in the car, Nene said,
“Two weeks ago today, Brent had congestive heart failure and a stroke. He is only 23, so he is very young for this to happen to him. The first thing a lot of doctors think when someone that age comes in with this condition is that they’ve been on drugs or maybe they have some kind of serious infection, maybe HIV or some kind of infection – that’s what the doctors tell me .”
Nene admitted Brent doesn’t drink or do drugs and said doctors have tested him for those things as well as HIV. She shared that doctors also believed that his condition could have been caused by COVID-19, but neither she nor Brent remember him contracting the virus. However, doctors are not entirely sure what could be the cause.
Nene also turned to her living room, which she also owns with her son, Brent. She shared that there is a possibility that they may sell the salon.
The living room was a business venture she entered into with Brent, her late husband Greg, and some of her friends. Brent has taken over the responsibility of running the lounge, but due to a health scare he is unable to do so at the moment. How earlier Brent was reportedly rushed to a local hospital in the Atlanta area earlier this month to be treated for both a heart attack and a stroke, TMZ reported. He was hospitalized for several days before entering a rehabilitation clinic to recover.
As many of you know, Brent is Nene’s son from her late husband Greg Leakes. Gregg sadly passed away last August after a battle with cancer.
