LONGWOOD, Bronx (WABC) — Two teenagers were shot Thursday outside the South Bronx Police Athletic League Center in the Longwood section.
The two teenagers were leaving a sporting event on Longwood Avenue just before 9pm when the incident happened. Officials say the shooting likely stemmed from a previous altercation and that teenagers may have been the target.
A young man in a mask shot a 15-year-old boy in the head. He is in serious condition at Lincoln Hospital, officials said.
The 16-year-old, who was shot in the leg, is expected to survive.
Days before that shooting, a 16-year-old was charged with attempted murder after an NYPD officer was shot in the arm.
A 13-year-old boy was charged Wednesday in the shooting deaths of a 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy in Queens.
Just last month, a 14-year-old boy was shot and killed in Fordham Heights.
Police say the suspect in the Bronx shooting fled the scene and no arrests have been made.
