UPPER WEST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) — Police in New York City are searching for a second man after a woman was found bound and dead in her Upper West Side apartment.

On Tuesday, authorities released surveillance images of a second man wanted in connection with the slaying of 74-year-old Maria Hernandez.

During last Wednesday’s murder, Hernandez’s killers removed the surveillance system from her building on West 83rd Street.

But during another surveillance, detectives discovered a second man who was accompanying Lashawn McKee, 47who had already been charged with murder.

Much of the video was found in the area of Mackey’s home in Brooklyn, where he was arrested Saturday morning.

Mackey worked temporarily at the building as a caretaker after serving time for assault in 1999 and being on parole.

Hernandez’s death appears to be related to an intentional burglary. However, she also suffered injuries that indicate other violence by the suspects.

“She was a wonderful person. A wonderful woman. She is kind, loving, caring, everything you can imagine, a kind, sweet person,” the victim’s sister, Maria Terrero, said earlier.
