LONG ISLAND CITY, Queens (WABC) — Police have arrested a man in connection with several rapes, two of which involved underage girls, in Queens, but investigators fear there may be more victims they don’t yet know about.

Investigators believe that 28-year-old Andres Portillo is a serial predator. He was detained and charged with multiple counts of first degree rape among other charges.

Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said his victims were two 15-year-old girls and a 21-year-old woman.

“It was a very tough time for them. Abductions, rapes, attacks. All that is the worst nightmare,” said Katz.

Detectives said Portillo drove through the streets of Queens, luring his victims into a maroon Honda Accord and locking them inside, where he sexually assaulted and beat them.

The latest incident happened just after a New Year’s Eve ball drop near Queens Plaza South in Long Island City. According to court documents, the suspect offered her a phone charger, the girl got into the car, and Portillo drove her to a secluded area, where investigators say he raped and beat her with a wrench.

In another case, court documents allege Portillo sexually assaulted another victim and at one point even cut her from leg to thigh. She ended up in Harlem Hospital.

“The brutality of these cases is amazing,” Katz said. “I think it’s a time that people shouldn’t have to go through and the courage it takes to come forward.”

Police say Portilla’s abuse continued for nearly five months and finally stopped after the victim was found covered in blood.

The victim told police what happened, and now the Queens district attorney fears other women may have similar stories.

“If there are other victims of Mr. Portilla, we want to talk to them,” Katz said.

Court documents say Portillo would threaten the women if they tried to run or report what happened. In one case, he threatened to harm the relatives of the deceased.

Investigators are urging the public to come forward if they know anything about or may have encountered Portillo.

Anyone with information about these incidents or the accused is asked to call the NYPD Rape Hotline at 212-267-7273 or the NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577- TIPS (8477) or in Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
