The Orlando Magic has been ranked No. 1 in the 2022 NBA Draft Lottery and will be ranked No. 1 in the June draft.
The ping pong balls were auspicious for the Magic, Houston Rockets and Detroit Pistons, each of whom had a 14% chance of getting the best choice.
In a draft that lacks clear prospects like Cade Cunningham in last year’s class, there could be an incentive for Magic to shrink. Their main prospects may be available in two or three, and it makes sense to pick up assets if the opportunity arises, albeit unlikely.
For most of the college basketball season, there seemed to be a wide open race for No. 1 in the draft, which will take place on June 23rd. It is expected that the main prospects of the call will be Jabari Smith from Auburn.
