Oscars 2023 parties: What you need to know about the Governors Ball, a celebration hosted by Vanity Fair

LOS ANGELES — Now that the Oscars are over, the Hollywood glitz and glamor continues.

Dozens of winners and other celebs headed to various parties around Los Angeles to celebrate the end of the long awards season, often ditching their red carpet attire for new party-ready looks.

Here’s what you need to know about the 2023 Oscar parties:

Vanity Fair party

This year’s Vanity Fair Party, hosted by Editor-in-Chief Radhika Jones, returned to the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills.

“To me, it’s because it has In-N-Out burgers inside,” Rebel Wilson said. “And I love In-N-Out Burger — it’s so L.A., it’s so Hollywood.”

“This is the kind of party where you’ll see Sharon Stone giving Leonardo DiCaprio bunny ears, Meryl Streep posing with Kate Winslet’s Oscar, Kanye West congratulating Brad Pitt on his Oscar win, or Mindy Kaling and Be Jay Novak, who are reunited in the photo. booth,” according to Vanity Fair.

The UK were invited to pose in front of photographer Mark Seliger’s custom portrait studio inside the party, which John Leguizamo described as “the best party in Hollywood”.

“And then I’ll go to Madonna’s party,” Leguizamo said. “It’s called ‘The Party’ for a reason.

Governor’s Ball

Immediately after the broadcast of the Academy Awards ceremony, the Governor’s Ball took place in the Ray Dolby Ballroom on the highest floor of Hollywood. & Highland.

The glamorous party featured an array of dishes from Wolfgang Puck Catering and Ghetto Gastro, as well as drinks created by world-renowned mixologist Charles Jolley.

Among those in attendance was Daniel Dae Kim, who shared his reaction to the shocking showdown between Will Smith and Chris Rock.

“It was an amazing moment,” Kim said. “It was something I’ll remember for a while.”

Many of those who witnessed the incident thought it was a joke at first.

“Me too, because I’ve never seen anything like it on TV before,” Kim said. “But I guess it’s live TV.”

Mercedez-Benz party

The luxury automaker hosted a party for stars and insiders at the Four Seasons Los Angeles in Beverly Hills, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Elton John’s Oscar party

Lady Gaga, Billy Porter and “Will & Grace” star Eric McCormack joined Elton John to co-host the superstar’s Oscars Hour Benefit Party in West Hollywood Park.

It was the singer’s 30th year hosting the party to raise money for his Elton John AIDS Foundation.

John joined via satellite live from his concert in Lincoln, Nebraska, as he planned his tour around the original date of the Oscars on February 27.
