THREE STATES (WABC) — Your favorite movie theater may be closing for good.
Regal Cinemas, the nation’s second-largest movie theater chain, has announced the closing of 39 theaters.
Its parent company, Cineworld, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy just four months ago.
The company says closing those theaters will save $22 million a year.
The closure will begin on February 15. Some theaters are closing their doors, including those in Union Square and downtown Cortlandt in Westchester County.
In New Jersey, Hamilton Commons and Pohatcong Stadium are also closing.
