GrinchSanta’s blood-red coat isn’t the only crimson stain to grace the halls this holiday season. Inspired by the classic Dr. Seuss children’s story, the hairy green villain returns in a new film from XYZ Films. a parody of a horror film. “The Mean One” got its name from the song “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” originally performed by Thurl Ravenscroft in the 1966 animated television special How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” — reinterprets the story of the infamous Grinch, draining all children’s whims and replacing them terrible plot resulting in mounds of bloody snow.
If Dr. Seuss’ original Grinch was as gentle as a cactus and as charming as an eel, it seems that director Stephen Lamorth’s Wicked (David Howard Thornton) is just who Cindy (Krystle Martin) may have to fend off 39- and -a half-foot pole. “In a sleepy mountain town, Cindy [You-Know-Who] her parents were murdered and her Christmas was stolen by a bloodthirsty green figure in a red Santa suit—the Evil One,” according to the film’s IMDb page. “But when a ravenous creature that hates Christmas begins to terrorize the town and threaten to ruin the holiday, she finds a new purpose: to catch and kill the monster.”
Does “gluttonous” mean that the Evil One’s version of the “roast beast” is not a chicken or turkey, but rather that he makes a meal of his victims after killing them? It seems likely. But with Cindy You-Know-Who—a pun on Cindy Lou Who—seeking revenge, the serial killer’s reign of terror may finally come to an end.
