The Human remains were found on a sunken boat on Friday and investigated by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office have been identified.
The remains of James Denny Hurst were found Friday, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Hearst’s remains were found on a sailboat called the Good Girl behind Sally Sams on Fort Myers Beach.
LCSO said it was there that missing man James Hearst was last known to have been on board during Hurricane Ian.
Crews worked on the sunken sailboat all Friday. First, divers went into the water to help prepare, then the boat was lifted onto a dock hours after it left the water, WINK News saw people in hazmat suits go into the boat and retrieve items.
Hurst is the latest missing person from Fort Myers Beach since Hurricane Ian.
