Actor v Alec BaldwinAfter that, it is planned to resume the production of the film “Rust”. Galina Hutchins“a tragic death… thanks to her family’s blessing.
Douglas Stewartwho plays the town’s father in the western, tells TMZ … the biggest hurdle to getting the movie done was knowing if Galina’s family wanted it done, and her widower’s involvement is something the cast needed to hear to move forward.
As we reported Matthew Hutchins announced this week that he having dropped wrongful death claim against Alec, the producers and others … who have reached a settlement.
Alec will now finish his starring role alongside the OG “Rust” cast, while Galina’s widower will executive produce the film.
Douglas says he has mixed feelings about the film’s ending a tragedybut says that as a working actor with a family to take care of … he ultimately believes it’s the right move given the increased security and Matthew’s involvement.
The civil settlement is not affected criminal investigation — Authorities say some of the participants, including Alec, could be recovered – but Douglas says he doesn’t think it will affect the conclusion of the film – the conclusion of the film and any criminal case are separate matters.
Another related thing…Douglas doesn’t believe Alec is guilty because he was gunsmithnot Baldwin, who was in charge of security.
