FORT MYERS BEACH
The mayor of Fort Myers Beach spoke about the city’s next steps after the president’s visit to the area on Wednesday.
Mayor Ray Murphy spoke with WINK News reporter Zach Oliveri and said the city is making “great progress” and said the city is working to get residents back into their homes.
Murphy said searches by the Fort Myers Beach Fire Department and FEMA USAR are preventing people from returning. The mayor said the search would probably end in a few more days.
The mayor said his most important message to people is to remain hopeful and patient.
