NEW YORK (WABC) – The NYPD welcomed a group of children battling cancer to One Police Plaza on Tuesday.
This week they traveled from Miami, Chicago, Houston and the area to visit New York.
The event was organized by Sunshine Kids.
They got a chance to meet Special Operations officers, their horses and K-9 assistants.
Most importantly, children get a chance to bond with their child in situations similar to their own.
“We bring kids from all over so they can hang out and make friends and meet other kids who are going through the same diagnosis as them,” said Caitlin Corey of the Sunshine Kids Foundation.
