As we reported, cops initially began investigating Blunt on Oct. 1 after he was involved in a huge altercation at the end of a 12-year-old soccer game in Gilbert, Arizona.
LeGarrett Blount apologizes for involvement in youth football fight, police investigate
In a video obtained by TMZ Sports, the three-time Super Bowl winner — the coach of one of the teams participating in the game — can be seen being shaken by something someone said during a handshake after the game.
In the footage, Blount appears to chase someone before punching the man twice.
Cops say they were called to the scene, but the fight was over by the time they arrived. They said there were no injuries.
Blunt eventually apologized for his role in the incident, saying in a statement: “As a leader, coach, parent and role model, I understand that my actions were unacceptable. I hope and pray for your understanding and forgiveness and plan to continue to be a positive influence in the lives of our youth.”
He added that he believes there’s more to the story than what’s shown in the video … but he explained, “Regardless, I take full responsibility for my part in this and for what I put himself into this situation.”
