The Statue of Liberty’s crown reopens after being closed since 2020 due to the pandemic

NEW YORK (WABC) – The crown of the Statue of Liberty will be open to visitors for the first time since the pandemic began on Tuesday.

Fans will be allowed to climb the 162 steps from the base of the statue to its crown.

The Crown has been closed since 2020, when the pandemic shut down many of New York’s iconic landmarks.

Last July, the observation deck of the Statue of Liberty was 50% full.
