TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Three people were killed Friday night in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 263, also known as Capital Circle Southwest, west of Balkin Road in Leon County.
Friday at 6:59 p.m., a sport utility vehicle driven by a 77-year-old Tallahassee man was eastbound on the southwest side of Capital Circle, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report. For an undetermined reason, the SUV crossed into the path of another westbound SUV, resulting in a head-on collision.
According to the FHP report, the man driving the SUV died along with two people in the other SUV – a 63-year-old man and a woman; both from Tallahassee.
The Florida Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Leon County Fire and Rescue and the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.
First responders closed the roadway to traffic, which was reversed by 11 p.m. Friday.
